Our strength is our people

We are a diverse company and recognise the key is to develop a strong, innovative, and dynamic business representative of our clients and the communities we work with and for. We continue to empower our people, supporting equal opportunities for all, embracing a vibrant, supportive, and inclusive working environment free from prejudice and discrimination.

Diversity, equality,
and inclusion (DE&I)

Our Better Together initiative focuses on furthering our culture, promoting values, celebrating diversity, increasing representation of minority groups and driving equality.

We are actively working to diversify our talent pool using non-traditional recruitment channels including headhunting, social media, local job centre engagement, job boards, local college and university partnerships, and ethical labour and recruitment partners.

This allows us to actively engage with people with differing backgrounds and experiences, while promoting construction as career path.

We are committed to educating and developing awareness on DE&I within our workplace and supply chain, challenging and opposing all forms of unlawful or unfair discrimination. Mandatory e-learning training and inductions are made available to employees and suppliers, tackling core topics including unconscious bias, mental health awareness and general DE&I training.

We also run regular internal workshops, supply chain training, and client engagement sessions. This framework promotes awareness and offers continued learning and development for our team and specialist subcontractors. By highlighting national and international issues, we raise awareness of issues that are personal to our colleagues and clients. Our aim is to leave a lasting and positive influence on our industry and those we meet along the way.

Developing future talent

Our business depends on the next generation of skilled workforce, and as such, 5% of our employees are apprentices.

Our London business unit has 14 graduates and apprentices working in roles including Estimating, Commercial Management and Construction Management. A further six will be joining a fresh intake for 2023.

We aim to keep 100% of our graduates and apprentices from across the Future Talent scheme.

Our focus is on supplying meaningful and appropriate training placements that form the foundations for a healthy and safe career in construction.
